Classic Almond Crescent Cookies Recipe

Ingredients

• 0.5 cup salted butter, at room temperature
• 0.33 cup confectioners' sugar, plus extra for dusting
• 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
• 1 teaspoon almond extract
• 0.13 teaspoon salt
• 0.75 cup all-purpose flour, sifted
• 2 tablespoons all-purpose flour, sifted
• 0.5 cup almonds, finely chopped

Instructions

1. Gather all of your ingredients. Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C).
2. In a bowl, beat butter and confectioners' sugar with an electric mixer until the mixture is smooth and creamy. Incorporate vanilla extract, almond extract, and salt; mix briefly.
3. Gradually stir in 3/4 cup plus 2 tablespoons of flour into the creamed butter mixture, then add the almonds. Mix until the dough is just combined.
4. Shape the dough into small crescent shapes. Place them about 2 inches apart on an ungreased baking sheet.
5. Bake the cookies in the preheated oven until the edges are lightly golden brown, approximately 15 minutes. Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
6. Once cooled, roll the cookies in sifted confectioners' sugar.
