Easy Chicken Cordon Bleu Recipe

Ingredients

• 3 tablespoons all-purpose flour
• 1 teaspoon paprika
• 6 skinless, boneless chicken breast halves
• 6 slices Swiss cheese
• 6 slices ham
• 6 tablespoons butter
• 0.5 cup dry white wine
• 1 teaspoon chicken bouillon granules
• 1 cup heavy whipping cream
• 1 tablespoon cornstarch

Instructions

1. Combine flour and paprika in a shallow dish for dredging the chicken.
2. Pound chicken breasts to 1/4 inch thickness. Layer a slice of Swiss cheese and a slice of ham on each breast, leaving a 1/2 inch border. Roll up the chicken, coat in the flour mixture, and secure with toothpicks.
3. Melt butter in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add chicken and cook, turning occasionally, until golden brown on all sides, about 5 to 8 minutes. Pour in wine and add bouillon. Reduce heat to low, cover, and simmer for approximately 30 minutes, or until the chicken is fully cooked (internal temperature reaches 165 degrees F or 74 degrees C).
4. Move the chicken to a serving platter and take out the toothpicks. In a bowl, mix cream and cornstarch until smooth. Slowly add to the skillet, whisking constantly until the sauce thickens, about 3 to 5 minutes.
5. Spoon the creamy sauce over the chicken and serve immediately for the best taste.
