Easy Sausage Stuffed Mushrooms Recipe

Ingredients

• 24 large mushrooms, stems removed, or more as needed
• 1 pound bulk hot Italian sausage
• 1 onion, diced
• 4 ounces grated Parmesan cheese, divided
• 0.25 cup Italian bread crumbs
• 1 teaspoon minced garlic
• 1 teaspoon chopped fresh parsley

Instructions

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Remove the stems from each mushroom cap, setting the stems aside.
3. Heat a skillet over medium-high heat. Add sausage, onion, and the chopped mushroom stems. Cook, breaking up the sausage, until browned and cooked through, about 4 to 6 minutes. Drain any excess grease. Return the sausage mixture to the skillet.
4. Stir in 3 ounces of Parmesan cheese, bread crumbs, garlic, and parsley. Cook and stir until everything is heated through, about 3 to 5 minutes.
5. Stuff each mushroom cap generously with the sausage mixture and place on a baking sheet.
6. Bake in the preheated oven for 12 minutes. Sprinkle the remaining 1 ounce of Parmesan cheese over the mushrooms and continue baking until the mushrooms are tender and the cheese is melted and bubbly, about 3 minutes.
