Homemade Dandelion Wine Recipe: A Sweet & Unique Beverage

Ingredients

• 1 quart yellow dandelion blossoms, well rinsed
• 1 gallon boiling water
• 8 cups white sugar
• 1 orange, sliced
• 1 lemon slice
• 1 (.18 ounce) package wine yeast

Instructions

1. Infuse dandelion blossoms in boiling water for 4 minutes, then remove and discard. Allow the water to cool to 90°F (32°C), approximately 10 minutes.
2. Incorporate sugar, orange, lemon, and yeast. Transfer the mixture to a plastic fermentor, seal with a fermentation lock, and ferment in a cool environment until bubbling ceases, typically 10 to 14 days.
3. Carefully siphon the wine, separating it from the lees (sediment). Filter the liquid through cheesecloth before transferring into four sterilized 1-quart canning jars.
4. For optimal flavor, age the bottled wine for a minimum of 1 week.
