Irresistible White Texas Sheet Cake Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 cup butter
• 1 cup water
• 2 cups all-purpose flour
• 2 cups white sugar
• 2 eggs eggs
• 0.5 cup sour cream
• 1 teaspoon almond extract
• 0.5 teaspoon salt
• 1 teaspoon baking soda
• 0.5 cup butter
• 0.25 cup milk
• 4.5 cups confectioners' sugar
• 0.5 teaspoon almond extract
• 1 cup chopped pecans

Instructions

1. Preheat your oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C) for baking.
2. In a large saucepan, melt 1 cup of butter with water and bring to a rolling boil. Take the pan off the heat, then mix in the flour, sugar, eggs, sour cream, 1 teaspoon of almond extract, salt, and baking soda until the batter is smooth. Pour the batter evenly into a greased 10x15-inch baking pan.
3. Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 20 to 22 minutes. The cake should turn a beautiful golden brown and test clean when checked. Let it cool for about 20 minutes.
4. In a saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter with the milk and bring to a boil. Take off the heat. Stir in the sugar and 1/2 teaspoon of almond extract, then add pecans. Spread this delicious frosting evenly over the warm cake.
