Pesto Grilled Cheese: The Ultimate Gourmet Sandwich Recipe

Ingredients

• 1 tablespoon softened butter, divided
• 2 slices Italian bread
• 1 tablespoon prepared pesto sauce, divided
• 1 slice provolone cheese
• 2 slices tomato
• 1 slice American cheese

Instructions

1. Butter one side of a bread slice and place it butter-side down in a non-stick skillet over medium heat.
2. Spread half of the pesto sauce on the unbuttered side. Layer provolone cheese, tomato slices, and American cheese on top of the pesto, in that specific order.
3. Spread the remaining pesto on the second slice of bread. Place this bread pesto-side down onto the sandwich in the skillet. Butter the top side of this bread slice.
4. Gently fry the sandwich, flipping once, until both sides achieve a golden brown color and the cheese is fully melted, approximately 5 minutes per side.
